For those who love to shoot, this Swedish Mauser is a treat. This is the Model 96/38, in collectors lingo, but the Swedes designated them as M-38s. This is the first incarnation of the Model 38 in Swedish service. These were rebuilt from the Longer M-96 rifles into the shorter M-38 length, and have the straight bolt handle of the 96. Later new production 38s had a bent bolt handle. This Swede is a shooters dream! First off it has a minty bright bore, and the Swede stock disk also shows this. Second off, it has the Vasteras Micro Adjustable rear sight insert giving you ultra fine adjustment. The action is butter smooth, and it has a smooth clean trigger pull. While the bluing shows a little wear here and there, the mechanicals on this one are first rate! All the numbers match, except for the wooden hand guard. As were most 38s, the rifle muzzle has been threaded for a blank firing adapter. This does not effect shooting at all, and comes with an aftermarket flash hider to protect the threads when not using a blank adapter. Also includes the Swede issue front sight hood and protector.
