NICE Matching EARLY Chinese SKS Type 56 (3 Mil series)
This is a very early Chinese sks and has not been through a rebuild or rework since it was built! These are really hard to find in such original condition. This is not the SKS for those who want to modify and make a tacti -cool rifle out of. This is for the collector and student of the SKS. Being this is a rifle from the 3 Million serial range it dates from about 1958. It has complete matching numbers, even on the gas tube and piston. It has a dot matrix import stamp on the right side of barrel under the gas tube and this means that it is from a batch of chinese military equipment that was sent to Albania as aid in the early 1960's. It was then imported from Albania to the US. Most of the Albanian sourced Chinese sks carbines show heavy use, abuse and very ugly stocks. This example is the exception! It retains about 75% of the original bluing, and the stock easily has 60% of its original varnish/shellac finish. It has not been sanded or messed with, and still shows a nice clear "Star" stock cartouche. It has lots of little dings and scuffs from use, but considering how soft the wood on Chinese sks carbines is, it really is in nice condition. This one drips with originality, and still has some storage grease and old soot in the crevices that will need cleaned up. All in all a great hard to find original unmessed with early SKS!
