FANTASTIC byf 45 Late War German Mauser 98k Vet Bringback!
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a late war Vet Bring Back all original WW2 German Mauser 98k Rifle!!!! This is one of the cleanest 98k we have come across in many years! Built in January of 1945 it has all the late war features such as no bayonet lug, screwed on barrel bands, no bolt take down washer in the stock, and a mixture of blued and phosphated parts... PLUS it has a proper Late War two row stitched original sling! The rifle is all matching numbers, and has an absolute stone cold MINT bore! While the rifle is really nice there are a couple small flaws to mention... First the stock has a bit of staining on the top near the butt plate as seen in the last picture, it also has a small stock scar or imperfection in the left side just behind the rear barrel band as seen in the second to last picture, and lastly, the stock was duffle bag cut under the rear band. If you do not know what this is, simply put GI's often cut the stock shorter so the disassembled rifle would all fit inside a duffle bag without sticking out in order to bring the rifle home. The common place to do this was under the rear band so the cut could be repaired without showing. This rifle has had the duffle cut repaired and as designed the repair does not show with the band installed. Don't let any of these issues scare you away, as the wonderful condition of this rifle far overcome the few small flaws! The crisp clear Eagle over WaA135 final inspection stamp in the stock, the deep rich bluing and the amazing condition overall, make this a once in a lifetime find for your collection!
